Encompassing 4,800 spectacularly scenic acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean and its own exclusive world-class championship golf course, Kauri Cliffs hides in an untrammeled corner of the Bay of Islands. Guest quarters are limited to just 16 handsome cottage suites set at the edge of a semi-tropical woodland facing the sea and links, a short walk from the luxuriously intimate plantation-style main house. Crackling fires, deep seated sofas and a friendly staff warm the beautifully decorated lodge, which is wrapped by a broad and beckoning porch. The relaxing ambience is that of a charming a comfy private beach home, with the cozy country-house lounges complemented by an indoor/outdoor dining room serving fresh Pacific Rim and New Zealand lamb/beef dishes.

The wondrous “Pebble Beach-like” golf course boasts six dramatic Cliffside holes, plus nine others with ocean views. A top-notch practice range with putting/chipping greens, golf shop, Callaway rental clubs and caddies add to the enjoyment of the game.
