Summer Series

Summer Series

As part of our Summer Series, we are excited to host a range of special activities on certain days of the week to entertain all guests. All summer series activities are complimentary but may be subject to change as some are weather dependent or adjusted for holiday dates.

Summer Series activities begin Monday, November 14, 2016 and run through until Sunday, April 23, 2017. A sample of the experiences that you might enjoy during your stay is offered below.

MONDAY: Guided Walk

Departing from the main lodge, enjoy a leisurely walk through some of our farm's many walking trails with a knowledgeable guide. See native birdlife as well as learning about the New Zealand way of life on a working farm.

TUESDAY: Pre-Dinner Putting Competition

Add to the fun of the cocktail hour and try your skill at putting. Members of our professional golf staff will gladly help you manoeuvre around the imaginative miniature putting course created especially for the evening. (No experience necessary)

WEDNESDAY: Pre-Dinner Kapa Haka Performance

During cocktail hour, guests can enjoy a live performance from Kerikeri’s Kapa Haka (Maori performing arts) group in the lounge. This is a unique opportunity to learn about New Zealand’s cultural heritage.

THURSDAY: Morning Farm Tour

Kauri Cliffs is a working farm and our guided farm tour is a must. Join Jonathon, our farm manager, as he makes his rounds. Guests can watch his farm dogs work by whistle commands herding Angus cattle and flocks of Coopworth sheep. Sheep shearing is an art requiring strength and dexterity, and our guests thoroughly enjoy this impressive demonstration.

FRIDAY: Pink Beach BBQ Dinner

Combine one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with a selection of fresh grilled seafood, lamb and local produce. Partner this with New Zealand cheese and wine, and you have an evening never to be forgotten.

SATURDAY: Morning visit to The Old Packhouse Market

This local market offers a wide selection of locally grown fruit and vegetables, quality meats, poultry, seafood, cheeses, flowers, wines, breads, baked goods and gourmet and deli lines, plus a large variety of Northland arts and crafts. Visit and support local artisans during your lodge guided tour.

SATURDAY: Golf clinic

Join our PGA Head Professional Cameron Barnes for an informative Golf Clinic on the Kauri Cliffs Driving Range. Get tips on how best to tackle the course and participate in an active clinic working on the parts of your swing that you need most.

SUNDAY: Pre-Dinner Wine Appreciation

From 6pm, Valeria our Sommelier will be opening some premium New Zealand wines in the Tiger Room. It is an opportunity to share impressions, learn about New Zealand's many wine regions and taste some premium New Zealand wine.
